I had the greatest weekend! My friends and I decided to drive down to Costa Mesa to visit our friend Michelle, our friend Ping is visiting us before she moves to Japan and we thought it would be fun to take a road trip since we haven't all been in the same room for almost 4 years! It was fun to catch up, have a few drinks (I love Aloha's Rainbow drinks, they are so good!) and just have fun together like we did in High School. Of course being in SoCal we had to go to the beach, and the weather was so perfect and warm that being in the ice cold water didn't seem to phase us. Hopefully, I will be moving down south soon!

When I first saw the Sam Edelman 'Louie' Boot on Nordstrom's website I knew I had to have them and this was about 3 months back! I'm not sure why I didn't purchase them earlier, probably because I knew that I could find them elsewhere for a better price. I'm all about buying nice shoes and I am willing to spend money on shoes that are worth the price but I just couldn't see myself purchasing these for $160!!  I am so happy that I waited because Sea showed me a pair of ankle boots she purchased from Baker's and when we stopped in they had almost the exact same boot as the Sam Edelman's for half the price! I've never purchased Bakers shoes before because I thought they were cheap and poorly made but Sea shops there all the time and told me they are made well and are comfortable without having to pay over $100 for a pair of shoes!! So, I was sold!!!

The reason why I love these ankle boots is because they are stylish, casual and versatile. You can keep the collar up or folded over for a different look. Another great thing about these boots is that they have a very low heel, which is a blessing for me because I can't walk in heels even if my life depended on it. Overall, I LOVE LOVE LOVE these boots!!! I may go back and buy the Sam Edelman's also because I am a very indecisive person! haha

Nicki Minaj OPI Collection Swatches!!

(L-R) Pink Friday, Who The Shrek Are You? (DUPE for Did It On Em'), Fly, Save Me, Metallic 4 Life, Super Bass Shatter
Metallic 4 Life
Save Me
Taken with no flash
Thumb-Fly, Index-Pink Friday, Middle-Save Me,  Ring-Metallic 4 Life, Pinky-Who the Shrek Are You? (DUPE for Did It On Em')

Fly is a pretty creamy teal color. I wouldn't say that it's a very unique color as I have probably seen a similar teal color multiple times at the drug store and never once picked it up. However, being in THIS collection I had to purchase it! I know that I wouldn't wear this color multiple times but it is still a nice color to have. It's an easy polish to apply and I used 2 coats of polish.

Pink Friday is one of my favorite colors in this collection as I am a creamy pink kind of girl. However, the polish is a little chalky but with 2 thick coats it should even out. This color is also not the most unique color because really how many bubblegum pinks do you see??!! A LOT!

Save Me is my favorite polish in this collection! Mainly because I love glittery polishes! This polish has silver and blue glitter mixed with holographic bar glitter in a clear base. It's very easy to apply, a lot easier than other glitter polishes. Usually when I wear glitter polishes alone I have to use 4-5 coats of  polish to cover my nail but with this one I only used 3 coats which is awesome!

Metallic 4 Life is silver glitter with hexagon shaped glitter mixed in a black opaque base. I don't love this color but I don't hate it either. If you have a black polish and silver glitter polish you can easily create the same look. It goes on thicker than I expected but still very easy to apply, I used 3 coats.

Did It On Em' is a very interesting looking greenish yellow. I didn't purchase this color because it looked so similar to  2 colors in the OPI Shrek Collection. If you have Fiercely Fiona and Who the Shrek Are You? you will understand what I'm talking about. Did It On Em' is almost an exact mixture between these 2 colors. Who the Shrek Are You? is slightly darker  and has more of a greenish tint than Did It On Em'  and Fiercely Fiona is slighty lighter and has a more yellowish tint  than Did It On Em', but in my opinion all 3 colors are not the most attractive polishes on their own.
Taken with flash and Super Bass Shatter

Super Bass Shatter is a purple shimmery shatter.  Out of all the shatter polishes this is by far my favorite color, I would have loved it more if it were just a normal polish since I'm not a huge shatter fan. However, I do like how Who the Shrek Are You? looks under Super Bass Shatter.  I had no problems applying this shatter and I used a medium coat of polish and since all shatter polished dry with a matte finish I used Seche Vite top coat for shine.

♡♡♡
Overall, I'm not as excited about this collection as I thought I would be. Most of colors are dupable and are probably in most nail polish fanatics collection already! If I were to choose 2 colors to purchase I would probably only buy Pink Friday and Save Me as those colors are the ones I would wear most often.

Just another lazy day....

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!!!

Today was one of Elle and I's lazy days...I am either always in a dolman sweater or a cardigan! Sometimes trying to figure out what to wear in the mornings are hard! I tend to grab my go to specially when I am super late for work and thats kind of often!!
Today we went to one of our parks we used to come to ALL the time when we first met! We decided to come back and take pictures for all of you to see! We actually had a good time taking these, except for the awkward moments when people were staring, but hey, that is what we do for fashion!!

I decided to wear my jade necklace today and it is really special to me. I am the third generation to wear this jade pendant. It actually was just a piece of jade that was originally hanging in my mother-in-law's closet and I decided to make it into a necklace. She actually gave me the honor of having it and telling me that I will one day be able to give it to my children. What is awesome about this jade is that its two koi fish transforming into dragons and that is actually one of my favorite chinese folk stories.
