So, here I am at another festival to eat MORE food. LOL Eddie and I saw a flyer for the Soy and Tofu Festival at Japantown in San Francisco and we both said, "we HAVE to go!" Eddie loves tofu, which is weird because he HATES vegetables. We were both kind of disappointed because the festival was tiny. It only had at most seven tents and that made me sad...it made me feel like it was more of a tease so I could buy more food inside Japantown. Which was what we did!
Those three cups you see were part of a tofu dessert competition that we were fortunate to be apart of, which was pretty cool, the mochi we both agreed was pretty nasty (haha), but the tofu tiramisu and tofu macaroon was pretty good. I voted for the tiramisu and Eddie voted for the macaroon.
I then saw the Tofu Panda and I had to take a picture with him!! Then after we took a picture with him, I tried to be sneaky and take a picture of him by himself and I got CAUGHT! Haha it was pretty embarassing, but whatever! LOL
Then, we moved onto Takoyaki!! I was really excited for this, but I was kinda disappointed because it was just weird. It was all tofu and the consistency was funky! Soft and squishy...weird. LOL
So, after we were done tasting the two things they had, we were starving so we went to "On the Bridge" which is this cute little restaurant that is on the "bridge" of Japantown. We've never been there before, but was always interested in the menu they had. So, of course I yelped it to see what was the best dish and I tried their Mentaiko spaghetti and Eddie had their curry special which was super spicy. OMG, the spaghetti dish was AMAZING!! It's so simple, but so flavorful!! Eddie's curry was a little too spicy. I mean I LOVE spicy, but that was like cayenne/peppery spicy, not what I am used to.
And then last but not least, we of course had to stop at Sophie's Crepes. Sorry I was so happy I got my crepe that I had two bites before I was able to take a picture of it for you guys. HAHA. This place is awesome I remember after surfing Elle and I would stop by for crepes. I have great memories with Sophie's Crepes. :)
Got enough luck? ;P
